- People without Skin in the game. Few traits are as repulsive as a lack of Skin in the Game. So-called entrepreneurs chasing social status while offloading the risk onto others—riding the Trojan horse of being a “builder,” when the only thing actually growing is their net worth. This people love to take other people’s money and try to build things at the expense of, well, others. I admire those who take big, real risks. But when I realize someone is only pretending to risk something, the admiration vanishes. As Nicolas Taleb said, courage is the only virtue you cannot fake.
- The Un-Principled. I don’t care who you are, what you do, or where you came from. I don’t care about your beliefs. But one thing I don’t tolerate is the lack of principles. Being rude to the waiter, being disrespectful, feeling entitled, and thinking that just by being you you deserve to be above everyone else.
